Snoring Is Disrupting Your Sleep — and Your Partner's

Snoring affects roughly one in three Australian adults and is one of the most common causes of broken sleep for both the snorer and their partner. Most solutions either don't work, are too bulky to wear comfortably, or require a prescription. This anti-snore mouthpiece is a practical, adjustable, over-the-counter mandibular advancement device (MAD) designed to reduce snoring from the first night of use.

What This Product Does

  • Advances the lower jaw forward by 1–10 mm across 10 incremental adjustment settings, widening the upper airway to reduce the tissue vibration that causes snoring

  • Custom-fits to your teeth using a simple boil-and-bite process — one fitting session, no dental appointment required

  • Made from BPA-free, latex-free medical-grade thermoplastic — safe for nightly contact with the oral mucosa

  • Lightweight and low-profile at approximately 45 mm wide — significantly less bulk than most CPAP masks or chin straps

  • Recommended replacement interval of 6–12 months depending on frequency of use and degree of jaw clenching

What You Will Feel

  • Night one: A mild awareness of the mouthpiece as your jaw settles into the advanced position — most wearers adjust within 2–5 nights

  • Morning soreness: Some temporary jaw or tooth sensitivity is normal in the first week as the muscles adapt; this typically fades as you find your optimal advancement setting

  • Quieter breathing: Many users notice reduced snoring within the first few nights, reported by partners as a significant decrease in noise and interruptions

  • Deeper rest: With less airway vibration disrupting sleep cycles, you may wake feeling more rested than you have been — though individual results vary and this device does not treat sleep apnoea

Who Is This For

  • Light-to-moderate snorers whose snoring is positional or related to soft-tissue airway narrowing rather than diagnosed obstructive sleep apnoea

  • Partners of snorers who have pushed their spouse or partner to try a non-invasive solution before escalating to a sleep clinic

  • Side sleepers and back sleepers looking for a device that works regardless of sleep position

  • People who've tried nasal strips or sprays without meaningful improvement and want to address the jaw/airway angle directly

  • Travellers and shift workers who need a portable, easy-to-clean solution that fits in a carry-on or locker bag

  • Anyone wanting to avoid CPAP while their snoring doesn't yet meet the clinical threshold for a machine prescription

  • Budget-conscious buyers comparing the $54.99 one-off cost against ongoing spend on disposable strips or specialist consultations

How It Works

  1. Soften the thermoplastic by submerging the mouthpiece in hot (not boiling) water for 30–60 seconds until it becomes pliable

  2. Bite into the softened device with your teeth centred, press your lips and cheeks inward to capture a clear impression, then hold for 30 seconds while it cools and sets

  3. Set your starting advancement using the adjustment mechanism — begin at the lowest setting (1 mm) and increase by one increment every 2–3 nights until snoring reduces without causing unacceptable jaw discomfort

  4. Wear nightly and clean after each use with a soft toothbrush and mild soap or the included cleaning solution; store in the ventilated case provided

What This Replaces

At $54.99, this mouthpiece replaces the ongoing cost of disposable nasal strips — which average $1.50–3.00 per night and add up to $550–1,095 per year with nothing to show for it. It also replaces the need for an initial private sleep specialist consultation (typically $200–400 AUD out of pocket) for mild snorers who simply need a well-fitted, adjustable device to trial before escalating to clinical assessment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this work for sleep apnoea?
No. This device is designed to reduce snoring caused by soft-tissue vibration and mild upper-airway narrowing. It is not a treatment for obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA). If you have been diagnosed with OSA, or if you experience gasping, choking, or significant daytime sleepiness, please consult a sleep physician before using any oral device.

How do I know what advancement setting to start on?
Start at setting 1 (1 mm advancement) on the first night. If snoring persists after 2–3 nights, increase by one increment. Continue until snoring reduces to an acceptable level or until you notice jaw discomfort — if discomfort occurs, step back one setting and allow a few more nights for adaptation.

Can I refit the mouthpiece if the boil-and-bite impression doesn't feel right?
Yes. The thermoplastic can be re-softened in hot water and re-fitted up to two or three times. After that, the material may not retain a sharp enough impression and the device should be replaced.

Is it safe to use every night?
Yes, the device is designed for nightly use. Some wearers experience mild jaw or tooth sensitivity in the first 1–2 weeks; this is normal. If you experience persistent pain, significant tooth movement, or TMJ discomfort, discontinue use and consult your dentist.

How do I clean it?
Rinse immediately after removing each morning. Clean with a soft toothbrush and mild soap or a denture-cleaning tablet. Allow to air dry before returning to its storage case. Do not leave it in direct sunlight or in a hot car, as prolonged heat will distort the thermoplastic.

How long does it last?
With daily use, expect 6–12 months before the thermoplastic softens or the impression degrades noticeably. Heavy jaw clenchers (bruxism) may find the device wears faster.
